Important Safety Information
This product is designed to treat and reduce odors originating within the sump pump basin or sump crock itself.
In most cases, nuisance odors are not caused by the incoming or discharged water, but rather by unwanted biological growth, organic buildup, stagnant moisture, and microbial activity occurring inside the sump basin environment.
The ultraviolet (UVC) system is intended to target these odor-producing biologics within the sump chamber and surrounding surfaces.
Testing and field observations have shown that extended runtimes are generally unnecessary for effective odor control.
Because the source of the odor is localized within the sump basin, operating the UVC system for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour per day is typically sufficient to significantly reduce odor-producing biological activity while minimizing energy consumption and extending bulb life.
This product is not intended to sterilize, purify, or treat water entering or leaving the sump system.
